This morning my client remarked, "I have been in senior management for 17 years and not once has someone asked me to talk about myself." He went on to say that "what you are saying is a new way of thinking for me and I need some time to process...this is all much more difficult than I thought."
Whether you're at the most senior level, or starting a career at entry-level, it is imperative that you know your product (you) in order to be competitive in today's marketplace. Know what your product is, what it does, (and doesn't do) and how it adds value and benefit to an organization. Don't presume that you can figure it out during an interview. For most of us, it simply ain't gonna' happen! Do some research on yourself. Prepare. Plan. Practice. Perform. Persist. Produce! You will be pleased with the ROI!
