Are You Satisfied With Your Job?
According to a recent Employee Satisfaction report by The Conference Board, more than half of Americans are dissatisfied with their jobs. Some of the least satisfying benefits of employment included company's policies, bonus plans, promotion policies, educational and job-training programs, non-monetary rewards / recognition, performance review processes, workload, work/life balance, communications, and growth potential. Whew! That's quite a list...
Interestingly, workers under the age of 25 are the least satisfied - and at a record-breaking low level. But the angst of dissatisfaction is widespread, with job satisfaction spiraling downward over recent years for all workers, regardless of age or income.
Besides the less-than-satisfactory benefits listed above, many workers are disenchanted with their jobs and are seeking other careers. For a real-world glimpse into this aspect of job dissatisfaction, delve into this past CareerHub posting on career change.
